Nice selection of anthologies he's signing. š This is legendary five-time finalist and Writers of the Future Contest winner, Scott Parkin. Such a fine author and mensch.
Here he is in a promotional video (click for full-size video) from his book-signing yesterday at the Salt Lake City FanX (comic-con). Thank you for the shout-out for 3rd and Starlight, Scott!
P.S. Small editorial correction, because...well, I edits as well:
The authors in 3rd and Starlight are published authors all who have entered the Writers of the Future contest and won and/or placed (finalists) and/or showed (semifinalists). And each story has an accompanying illustration by the talented M Elizabeth Ticknor. Wonder where we got the idea for that? ;) Shameless promotional Link.
As for me, I've...
been traveling: Switzerland, southern Italy, Tarrytown, NY š ,
editing: for the e-zine Cosmic Roots and Eldritch Shores, as well as for talented award-winning friends, as well as for myself,
submitting stories (with such nice rejections, who needs enemas?), and
I finished revising my ol' first novel. It is now in the hands of a truly wonderful editor gifted with the appropriate gentle touch. You know. Like Edward Scissorhands.
Now, cracking my knuckles and neck vertebrae (ah the joys and aches of being sixty), I've returned to two new short stories I've plotted. They're complex and a challenge, for a number of reasons, but I feel they have the potential to be something special and meaningful -- well, at least, to me. š
I hope to attend one or more cons in 2019, and I'd love to see you. More on this later.
And Rosh Hashannah (the Jewish New Tear --oops, Freudian slip -- New Year) begins at sundown tomorrow. So: "L'shana tova u'metukah! " May you all have a good and sweet year!
